As I was driving to another town on Earth Day I saw high school students out cleaning up trash around their school. I know its a job that most people don't really want to do but in this day and age we must try to keep our home town clean.
Its is a shame that some people need to throw their trash out the car windows instead of leaving it in their cars until they get home or even stop at a gas station and get rid of it there.
We all really need to do our part in becoming Green Its really not hard to do either. In my home we recycle our magazines, cans, plastic & glass. We have a compost bin for all of our vegetable, fruit, eggshells, coffee grinds & even dryer lint and it makes our garden soil richer!
There were elementary students in our town walking around and cleaning up too. They all look so happy to be helping and just maybe a bit excited to be out of school.
I needed to do some food shopping today and when I was at the check out line I noticed that the cashier was bagging my products in brown paper bags I haven't seen them in a long long time. I said to her "Oh I see the store is into Earth Day too" she told me no the 3 & 4th graders in our Elementary school made these bags and gave them to us to use instead of the plastic bags. I really loved that they participated in Earth Day. I took pictures of those beautiful Earth Day bags they made.
